  • I believe that change... although painful and challenging at times, is the only consistent thing about life. Our ability to acclimate to change is vital, although not easy. My personal belief is that EVERYONE has the innate capacity for change and growth, even through life's toughest curve balls!

I hold a firm belief that the client is the expert, as they have lived and lead their own lives. Paying respect to that, I conceptualize my role as a counselor based on a philosophy that it is crucial the counselor focuses on providing an EMPATHIC & GENUINE foundation for the client and therapist relationship to build upon.

This authentic counseling environment allows clients to grow and connect on a more profound and meaningful level. Connecting and changing negative influences in their lives. As a result of this growth, clients increase their ability to cope through hard times, and develop a better understanding and appreciation of their self, and feelings.

The client determines how quickly we work towards positive change, and I strive to provide a healing and validating presence. I will be authentic and empathic in my interactions with you, and we may even have some fun along the way!

  • Wow. What a couple of years- am I right?

Things are weird, they're hard and uncomfortable at times. You're always adapting and it feels like more is being asked of you each time you feel like you're getting settled. But I'll let you in on a secret- you've got this. It may not feel that way right now, but deep inside you've been given and always held the ability to change. To adapt. To overcome.

If you've read this far and you're thinking you want to know more about the ember that's kindling inside- I'm your gal (or therapist, in this instance).

I approach therapy with human connection and the need to feel heard, and held, as the primary focus. I would love to hear your story, to celebrate your successes and support you through your failures. I want that front row seat to your journey, to help you light that fire, and send you on your way to spread that out into the world.

Doing the work isn't easy, but in the end is SO worth it.

  • My clinical approach is through the lens of relationships. I believe that we are all built as relational creatures and as such, our best selves are found when we feel connected to others in healthy appropriate ways. With this in mind, I want to help my clients repair relationships that already exist or build new ones as they process and change through their time in counseling. I also believe this applies to the relationship between myself as a counselor and my clients. I hope to create a setting in therapy where my clients can come and feel heard, guided, and empowered to increase their ability to handle what life may throw at us. I also believe that often being able to explore significant past relationships can be helpful in bringing awareness to what has shaped us into who we are today

Through my time at the University of Colorado Denver, I have come to a greater understanding of how diverse and unique we all are as humans and I believe that I can work with a variety of clients from individuals to couples to families. I have an emphasis in couples and family therapy, while I have also gained experience working with individuals."

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I work with all ages and stages. I have worked with children and families for over 20 years, and my greatest joy is found in being a “helper.” Registered Play Therapist (RPT), means that I have a specialty in play therapy. If you decide that I am the right fit for your family, you’ll pretty quickly feel the playful nature of my therapeutic approach. I believe that play keeps us young and helps us to look at life’s problems with fresh eyes. In my office, it’s common for you to find stuffed animals, fidgets, bubbles, and various other cool playthings…

That doesn’t mean I don’t take pain and difficulty seriously. Sitting with people as they process pain is serious work. I will honor your strength and bravery in taking the step to reach out and begin that journey. You know more about the way through the problem than you think you do, and you have more strength to do it than you realize.

  • My greatest passion is coming alongside exhausted parents, especially those encountering challenging kiddos and teens, and instilling hope! I do this in a humble, "been there, made that mistake" way utilizing DDP, TBRI and other trauma-informed research-based approaches to helping families heal. Many of the children and families I assist feel stuck in a negative pattern of conflict, defiance, manipulation and anger. I believe the primary means for change is through playful, accepting, reciprocal connections between caregivers and children. By exploring the barriers to these connections and instilling hope for something different, families can begin to create new pathways for healing and lasting change. As an adoptive parent myself, and mother to five grown children, I see you and I want to understand how to help your family thrive! I work primarily with families and children who have attachment insecurity or display behaviors related to early trauma, anxiety, depression, ASD or ADHD. I also enjoy helping adults who are exploring their own issues that present barriers to being the human they desire to be. I am a person of faith, and can incorporate this into our work if you desire this. I enjoy coaching parents in new ways of understanding themselves and being with their children that promote connection and growth.

I believe issues in our lives arise from a lack of connection to others and to the internal parts within ourselves. Once we strengthen these connections and resolve inner conflict, we are able to reach a state of feeling more integrated and authentic. I will support you as you cultivate acceptance and growth in your life in ways that honor your values, identities, and who you want to be in this world.

You are the expert of yourself and I will honor that in our work together. As a counselor, I view my role as walking next to you while you process the areas of your life that are troubling you. This means paying attention to our own thoughts, bodily sensations, and actions. Often our habit patterns are subconscious, and we find ourselves simply reacting to life. This can sometimes lead us to some difficult places, such as unsettling emotions, isolation, or maybe with shame or self-judgement. With awareness, we can learn to respond to life in a more skillful way. We can learn to be with difficulty with kindness and self-compassion. • Hi, I’m Makayla. I’m passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where healing can happen—especially for kids, teens, and families navigating life’s tougher moments. My journey into counseling started in the hospital setting, where I supported children and their families as they adjusted to new diagnoses and prepared for medical procedures. That experience deepened my love for walking alongside families during seasons of transition and challenge.

In my work, I center the therapeutic relationship and strive to build safety, trust, and connection. I use a person-centered approach, drawing from child-centered play therapy to support children’s natural ability to express themselves through play. I also work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or big life changes, always aiming to meet clients where they are with empathy and respect.

I especially value working closely with caregivers and families—whether that means partnering in the playroom or supporting parents as they learn how to show up for their child in new ways. It’s an honor to be part of the healing process.

  • The most important aspect of therapy for me is creating a warm and welcoming space where individuals feel comfortable being themselves. My approach focuses on understanding each person's unique story and being present as they navigate life’s challenges. Recognizing the difficulties that come with personal struggles, I aim to be a supportive and compassionate presence, encouraging exploration of feelings and experiences without judgment.

I believe that healing begins with curiosity about one's own thoughts and the understanding that comes from it. By fostering this curiosity, we can gain deeper insights into ourselves, build resilience, and find greater peace in our daily lives. Working on MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Supervisor: Dr. Hannah Davis, PhD, LPC

  • Welcome! My name is Nick. Like you, I am a human being who is existing and growing in, adapting to, learning about, and working to understand life and the complicated world that we live in. Personal and professional experience has taught me how human we really are and how, with the right support, we can find self-compassion and resilience in our efforts towards health and fulfillment. It is my personal passion and goal to provide that support as you navigate the wavy waters of your own journey.

Before working here at Forge, I spent years helping children, adolescents, and adults through some of the darkest periods of their lives in psychiatric inpatient hospital settings. My personal development, extensive education, and work experience have afforded me the knowledge and skills to create a space beneficial for self-discovery, healing, change, and growth. With you being the expert on yourself and your own life, my clinical approach follows person-centered therapy with an integrative influence of the mindfulness-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and multiple other treatment modalities designed to help shed some light on the enigma of our struggles.

Together, you and I will develop a therapeutic relationship that is built on the foundation of trust, compassion, authenticity, acceptance, and unconditional respect. Let's get started!

  • Hi there! What a journey we’re on!

Living is a shared experience that connects us all, regardless of differences. Life can often seem to be out of our control and can really kick us down sometimes. We can regain a sense of control through actively creating meaning in our everyday lives. Life can be all consuming at times, causing us to forget that we are living OUR story and it’s unwritten! We hold the power to create freedom and happiness for ourselves.

I am particularly interested in child development, couples counseling, family dynamics, and the reintegration into society of those in the military and incarcerated population. I enjoy spending time outside, in nature, in awe of its beauty, in acknowledgment of all I do not know as a human.

I am passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and belonging space for clients to process their realities and work towards shifting them in the most fulfilling way. As I continue to develop my professional identity as a counselor, I look forward to seeing client’s take ownership over their lives, self-discovery, and live a life gratified.

This is our first time doing life, let’s make it ours!

  • Working on Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Supervisor: Dr. Jessica Walsh, Ph.D., LPC

  • Hello, my name is Jason Dilger, and I am a counselor dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and groups in achieving their mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. I offer a compassionate and understanding approach to help you navigate personal growth and well-being.

My passion for counseling comes from a deep desire to help others overcome their challenges and realize their potential. I tailor my therapeutic approaches to meet each client's unique needs, ensuring a comprehensive and personalized counseling experience.

In the heart of every crisis lies the path to well-being, meaningful relationships, and a vibrant life. True transformation happens through acceptance—accepting who you genuinely are and what you truly desire in life. Crises present an opportunity to integrate all aspects of our experiences—the good, the bad, and the chaotic. By fully embracing and learning from these experiences, you can uncover your authentic self and create a new narrative. A narrative built on healing, resilience, and hope.

This journey not only connects you to the essence of your own life but also to the broader human experience, offering a fresh perspective. It's a continuous approach to living, not a final destination. It represents an ongoing way of being, rooted in a deep understanding of existence.

If you're ready to embark on your personal growth journey, I encourage you to reach out. Let's work together for a brighter future.

  • Howdy, and welcome to counseling. Whether this is your first time in therapy or your twentieth, I know that reaching out for support isn’t always easy. I commend your effort in taking control of your life and starting to write your own story.

A little about me—I love spending time outdoors or curled up with my cats and a good book. I’m also a bit of a coffee nerd, so if you ever want to chat about brewing a better cup, I’m all for it!

When it comes to counseling, I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to support and guide you, helping you navigate challenges in a way that feels right for you. I take a client-centered approach, meaning our work together will be collaborative and tailored to your needs. I also integrate techniques from different perspectives to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and productive.

I look forward to meeting you and growing together. Let’s take on life—one step at a time.

Counseling Supervisor: Dr. Jessica Walsh, Ph.D, LPC

  • As I keep growing and learning more about licensed clinical mental health, I stay rooted in my person-centered approach. For me, it’s all about building a strong, supportive relationship where clients feel truly heard and understood—without judgment. I want to create a space where people can explore their feelings, experiences, and strengths at their own pace. While I’m always looking to refine my skills and incorporate new techniques, my focus will always be on meeting each person where they are and supporting them in the way that works best for them.

  • Healing happens when we feel seen, heard, and accepted for who we are. When such a fundamental need goes unmet—of course, we feel adrift and disconnected, both from ourselves and from the world around us. We fall out of touch with our intuition and our bodies and feel immobilized. If you’re seeking help, you’re already doing the work. My role is to help you continue to strengthen that resilience and wisdom already within you.

I am a Level 2 Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist who works with individuals all ages, from elders to littles and everyone in between. Though I specialize in IFS, my approach to each of my clients is unique and tailored to what works best for you. I integrate elements of person-centered therapy, I-CBT, and trauma-informed care. Most importantly, I provide a space where you can show up as you are, knowing you’ll be met with warmth, understanding, and acceptance.

Outside of the therapy room you can find me making lumpy mugs at my pottery studio, swimming in lakes with friends, and reading with a cat on my lap.

Get started, today.
