You're not alone...
Group counseling is unique in that it provides an opportunity to connect with other people who are working towards growth in their lives, to connect, learn from and teach one another. Topics of groups vary and are tailored to the needs of the individuals who participate. Most groups have 6 - 10 members and meet weekly.
What makes group counseling helpful...
Many elements of the group have been noted to be helpful to clients. These include feelings of universality (knowing you aren’t alone), altruism (helping others), improving relationship skills, gaining hope for yourself and others, and building solid connections with others in a safe and structured environment.
What is important to know...
Group counseling led by a licensed professional counselor is held to the same confidentiality and privacy as individual counseling. We ask all members of the group to respect this level of confidentiality, and outside relationships are discouraged.
